Sunil Shetty was born on 11th August 1961 in Mulki close to Mangalore, India. He’s known to many as Anna.
He is married to Manna Shetty and they have two children Atiya and Aahan.
Sunil, apart from his acting credentials, holds a black belt in Full Contact Kick Boxing. He is also an entrepreneur, owning hotels, a clothing line Mischief and Popcorn Entertainment, which is a company that handles stage shows and concerts.
Sunil Shetty’s Movies:
1992 to 1997 Shetty’s first movie was Balwaan in 1992 with Divya Bharathi. In 1993 his hit quotient increased after his performance in Anth. He joined hands with Akshay Kumar in Wagt Hamara Hain (1993) and then again in the blockbuster Mohra (1994). He worked in movies like Suraksha (1995), Takkar (1995) and Rakshak (1996). The movie J.P.Dutta’s Border (1997) about army men was well received and his role as Captain Bhairon Singh won him a nomination for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
1998 to 2002 After Vinashak (1998), Hu Tu Tu (1999) and Krodh (2000) he along with Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar worked together in the laugh riot Hera Pheri (2000). Another J.P.Dutta release Refugee (2000) that was the debut of Abhishek Bacchan and Kareena Kapoor did moderate business. Dhadkan (2000) with Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty, in which he played a spurned lover, was a hit.
2003 to 2009 He was seen in Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003), LOC Kargil (2003), Rudraksh (2004), Main Hoon Na (2004) that cast him as the terrorist Raghavan, Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav (2005), Tango Charlie (2005), Paheli (2005) which was nominated as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards, Fight Club: Members Only (2006) and Darna Zaroori Hai (2006).
